Maintenance Techniques for Bathtubs
1. Gentle treatment of surface stains
You can use a discarded soft bristled toothbrush dipped in bleach solution to scrub the surface, which can remove stains and eliminate mold. When encountering difficult to clean stains, you can also use half a lemon dipped in salt to wipe, or use a soft bristled toothbrush coated with whitening toothpaste to scrub. Turpentine is also very useful at this time. For limescale, products used for cleaning toilets on a daily basis are very effective. If you don't like the pungent smell, you can also use a natural method of adding lemon and white vinegar. Do not use cleaning agents with fading function, especially when the bathtub at home is colored. To deal with mold and bacteria that cause fungal diseases, rinse with bleach and peroxide water and immediately wipe dry.
2. Timely repair of scars
Do not move the bathtub without permission after installation. If you need to move the position, you must contact a professional. Do not use hard objects to strike or collide with the surface, causing scratches or dents. If you need to repair dull or scratched parts of an acrylic bathtub, you can use a clean cloth mixed with a colorless automatic polishing solution to wipe it vigorously, and then apply a layer of colorless protective wax. Do not apply wax to the landing area to prevent slipping.
3. Weekly cleaning
When cleaning acrylic bathtubs, use sponge or velvet instead of coarse cloth or scouring pad. Do not use any cleaning agents containing granular objects. It is best to avoid direct sunlight and contact with high-temperature cigarette butts. Use mild cleaning agents (such as dishwashing detergent), do not use abrasive cleaning agents.
Acrylic bathtubs can also be cleaned with glass water. After each use, the cast iron bathtub should be thoroughly rinsed with clean water and wiped dry with a soft cloth. If encountering stubborn stains, a small amount of abrasive cleaning agent can be used for cleaning. Clean the bottom anti slip surface with a soft nylon brush. Do not use steel wire balls, wire brushes, or grinding sponges to scrub.
The massage bathtub system should be flushed at least twice a month. Adjust the nozzle clockwise to the fully closed position to prevent air leakage. Inject warm water into the bathtub to 2 inches above the highest nozzle, or leave the water in the bathtub after use. Add two spoons of low foam powder automatic dish detergent and a small amount of household bleach to the water. Turn on the massage bathtub for 5 to 10 minutes, then turn it off, drain the water, and rinse the surface of the bathtub with water. When the bathtub is in a damp and hot state for a long time, it can also breed a lot of bacteria. Sometimes, after cleaning, the surface looks clean, but in fact, there are still many bacteria present. It is recommended to regularly wipe the surface of the bathtub with boiling water and not use disinfectant casually, as disinfectant may not necessarily kill mold and fungi.
4. Handle pipeline blockage and disinfect
Pipelines need to be cleaned once or twice a week to remove odors and prevent bacterial growth. You can use products specifically designed for cleaning sewers, pour them into the sewer, clean them after 5 minutes, and be careful not to use them in metal pipes. If the bathtub is clogged, you can first close the drain valve and then add an appropriate amount of tap water to the bathtub; Place the rubber suction device (for unclogging the toilet) on the drain valve; While opening the drain valve, cover the overflow hole of the basin or bathtub; Then quickly attract up and down, suck out dirt or hair, and clean it up in a timely manner. In cases of severe blockage, it can be repeated several times until it is completely cleared.
